Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data Ara Adventure collects when you use this website, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do with it. It covers this website only.

1. Who is responsible for your data

This website is operated by PT. Langkah Wisata Nusantara, trading as Ara Adventure. We decide why and how the personal data described below is processed. Our contact details are at the end of this page.

2. What we collect

2.1 Data you give us

  • Enquiry and contact forms: your name, email address, phone number, subject and message.
  • Newsletter: your email address.
  • Bookings: the traveller details, contact details and trip details needed to confirm and operate a booking, and the booking status returned by our payment provider.
  • Accounts: if you create an account or sign in with Google, the name, email address and profile picture that the sign-in service returns to us.
  • Reviews: the rating, text and any images you publish.

2.2 Data collected automatically

Our own analytics records, for each visit: your IP address, browser and operating system, device type, the pages you open, the page that referred you, any campaign parameters in the address (UTM), and the times of your first and last activity in a session.

We do not buy personal data from third parties.

3. Payment data

We never receive or store your full card number, CVV or banking credentials. Payments are completed on the payment provider's own system. We only receive the result of the transaction (for example: paid, pending, failed) and the reference needed to match it to your booking.

4. Why we use it, and on what basis

  • To answer you and to operate your booking — because you asked us to, and to perform the agreement between us.
  • To send booking-related messages by email and WhatsApp — confirmations, changes, departure reminders. These are part of the service, not marketing.
  • To send promotional messages — only if you asked for them. You can stop them at any time.
  • To keep the site working and secure, and to understand which pages are used — our legitimate interest in running the site.
  • To meet accounting and tax obligations — where the law requires it.

5. Who we share it with

We share only what is needed, and only with:

  • the boat operators, guides, drivers and accommodation providers who actually operate the trip you booked;
  • our payment provider, to take and reconcile payment;
  • our email and WhatsApp messaging providers, to deliver notifications;
  • our hosting provider, which stores the site and its database;
  • the authorities, where the law obliges us.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not rent it out.

6. Cookies and similar technology

This site uses cookies to keep you signed in, to remember your language and currency, to protect forms against abuse, and to count visits. You can delete or block cookies in your browser; if you block the essential ones, signing in and checkout will not work.

7. How long we keep it

  • Enquiries: while we are handling them and for a reasonable period afterwards, so we can pick up an earlier conversation.
  • Bookings and payment records: for as long as accounting and tax rules require.
  • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
  • Accounts: until you ask us to delete the account.
  • Analytics: in aggregate for trend reporting; individual session records are kept only as long as they are useful for that.

8. Your rights

You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it for a particular purpose; you can withdraw a consent you gave us; and you can ask for a copy of what you gave us. Write to the address at the end of this page. We may need to confirm who you are before we act, so that we do not hand your data to someone else.

9. Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection, passwords are stored hashed and never in readable form, and access to the administration area is limited to named staff accounts. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach ever affects your data, we will tell you and the relevant authority as required by law.

10. Children

This site is not aimed at children. Bookings involving minors are made by a parent or guardian, who provides the minor's details.

11. Where your data is kept

Our servers and our service providers may be located outside Indonesia. Where that happens, we use providers that apply a comparable level of protection.

12. Changes

If we change this policy we will publish the new version on this page and update the date shown at the bottom. Material changes will be announced on the site.
